It is that time of year again; the Port Credit Farmers Market and the Streetsville Lions Friends and Farmers Market will be returning every Saturday from early June until Thanksgiving. Visit the Farmers Market to pick up all your fresh produce, locally grown in Ontario. The Farmers Market helps to support local farmers and encourages healthy eating. At the Farmers Market you have the opportunity to speak with the farmers directly and ask them questions about the foods being sold.
In addition to fresh produce, you can also pick up other specialty goods throughout the season including gourmet foods and homemade craft items. Residents of the Port Credit and Streetsville community are excited for the return of the Farmers Market, which gives the community the opportunity to pick up all their produce in the comfort of their own neighbourhood!
Port Credit Farmers Market
Port Credit Farmers Market returns to the village every Saturday, beginning June 4th from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Lakeshore Road East. In addition to Ontario Produce, vendors offer a range of homemade items including artisan cheese, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, jam, sauces and spices and over 30 varieties of garlic. While you are at the market, sample a mouth-watering breakfast consisting of peameal bacon on a bun with Hank’s Franks.
Come out to experience live entertainment each week, including performances by local artists at the Open Air Music Café. Artisan’s Row (also known as the Crafters Market Place) features local crafters showcasing their handcrafted items. Browse the wide range of homemade items including clothing, jewelry, purses, art, glass and mixed media. Children’s crafts are offered once a month, giving your child the opportunity to explore their creativity and take their unique creations home with them. Port Credit Farmers Market is a great family gathering place and there is something for everyone to enjoy!
Streetsville Lions Friends and Farmers Market
Gear up for the 2016 Streetsville Lions Friends and Farmers Market beginning June 11th and running until Thanksgiving weekend. The Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at Centre Plaza. Streetsville Lions Friends and Farmers Market looks forward to being able to provide Ontario grown fruits and vegetables to the residents of Streetsville. The Streetsville Lions Friends and Farmers Market supports local farmers, bakers, artists and small business owners. The featured vendors will be selling various items such as crafts and specialty goods throughout the season. Come out to experience the wonderful array of produce and homemade goods available!
